MUSIC & DRAMA
The highly acclaimed PVIS Music Program is comprised of 5 classes that include percussion, brass, woodwinds, and strings. In addition, PVIS offers 2 after-school classes: Pep Band and Jazz Ensemble. Booster Club monies fund instrument care, new instruments, sheet music, teachers specializing in percussion, brass and woodwinds, and our Jazz Ensemble and Pep Band leaders.
Pep Band performs at Pen & PV High football games, marches in the Peninsula Holiday Parade and performs a the PVIS Winter and Spring Concerts. Jazz Ensemble participates in the PV High School Jazz Winter Concert in December, as well as hosting an evening of Jazz in the Spring.
Our award winning bands and orchestra perform at festivals around California. Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and Chamber Orchestra participate annually in the San Francisco area Heritage Festival, while our Symphonic Band and Symphonic Winds perform at the Anaheim area Forum Festival.
Each spring, the PVIS Drama Department presents a musical. Auditions are held in the Fall.
